GABA (or gamma-aminobutyric acid) is a compound found in nearly all life on earth. Whilst GABA has many roles in the human body, in the brain it functions as a neurotransmitter. GABA modulates brain and central nervous system activity, causing feelings of relaxation and calmness, opening the door to a sense of ease in social situations and all the positive benefits these moments can bring.

GABA Spirits are designed to increase the effectiveness of the calming effects GABA provides. GABA Spirits do not raise your GABA levels, nor do they contain GABA itself as an active ingredient. We do not use GABA as an active ingredient because ingested GABA cannot pass from your bloodstream through what is known as the blood brain barrier (BBB), and then on into your brain. Instead, GABA Spirits contain active ingredients that can pass the BBB and modulate the effectiveness of the GABA naturally produced by your brain.

Helps Perimenopause

Hi, I'd just like to say that I'm very happy with Gabba Red - I was gifted it and co-incidentally I'm not an alcohol drinker and not concerned with finding an alcohol free alternative, but I found if I have a small shot of Gabba before I go to bed it reduces my waking in early hours (due to perimenopause symptoms). I've tested this for several months now and there is definitely a correlation. I realise every woman is unique, so this may/may not help everyone, but it's definitely worth trying. I take it for 10 days at bedtime from day 16 of my cycle until my period arrives...it means I don't wake at 4am anymore...so thank you! I'd be interested to hear if anyone else finds it helps in similar ways - has anyone else said this Sentia? I've been using it for 6 months now :-)

We’re sorry to hear that SENTIA isn’t working for you right now, there could be a number of reasons for this:

Individual variances: Your GABA system is very much your own, and individual chemistry varies from person to person, so the experience of SENTIA will vary too.

Alcohol in system: Regular alcohol drinkers may have a high tolerance to GABA release, which will moderate the Sentia experience. Studies suggest that you can reset your tolerance to GABA release by refraining from drinking for 2 to 3 weeks.

SSRI’s: (Selective Serotonin Inhibitors) anti-psychotics, tranquillisers and some epileptic medications may inhibit the effects of SENTIA.

Expectations: SENTIA is not designed to get you “drunk”, but offer a more refined experience. All feelings are of course very subjective, and will vary from person to person.

Context: There is a great deal of scientific evidence indicating that drinking (or talking any mind altering substance) alone creates a very different effect from doing so socially. The science suggests the same will be true with SENTIA.

Never tasted anything like it before

Completely delicious and will become my go to drink. I don’t drink alcohol but this felt like I was joining it, other non alcoholic “spirits” have alway been a bit wishy washy. Love this!!
